Good morning.
Whom:
Burnley vs. Brighton
What:
EPL match number 22 for the Clarets.
Where:
Turf Moor
When:
9:00 AM American Central Standard Time
How to Watch:
Peacock. Booooooo!
What’s at Stake:
Brighton’s been playing well of late, winning three of their last four EPL matches. They haven’t conceded a goal during the stretch, and they’ve knocked off Tottenham and Liverpool within the last week. The result of that is that the Seagulls lead Burnley by two points in the table, sitting in 15th with the Clarets at 17th. Burnley does have a game in hand, but the point is, Burnley could really use a win to put Brighton back between themselves and the relegation zone (Newcastle is the club between the two, even with Burnley on points but ahead in goals scored—they play Southampton concurrently with this match).
The Odds:
NBC says PointsBet says Burnley’s at +240 to win, Brighton’s at +125, and a draw’s at +210, meaning Burnley’s somewhere around 55% or 60% likely to at least get a point, and something like 25% or 30% likely to win.
The Opponent:
Brighton & Hove Albion. Always been confused by the “& Hove Albion” part.
Burnley News:
No word on the injured lads. Chris Wood. Ashley Barnes. Josh Brownhill. Robbie Brady. Charlie Taylor.
Also, the postponed Fulham match will be made up on the 17th.
Bertie News:
Nothing new in the last few days.
