Each of the last two nights, I’ve awoken in the middle of sleep to what appears to be a light flashing in my bathroom. The way I sleep, the bathroom’s in full view, so the flashing’s been right in front of me. I haven’t had to do anything to notice it.
The light is what’s evidently called a “cold” light—it looks like the light from a strobe, rather than the warm light from, say, the normal lights in that bathroom. The whole bathroom doesn’t light up, but parts of it do. Last night, the light seemed to be mostly in the upper part of the room, close to the door, where there’s an air vent, but I could be wrong about that. I don’t think it flashes the exact same each time—I’m not sure if the tempo’s consistent/rhythmic, and I don’t think the magnitude or position of the flash is always the same.
I have no idea where the light’s coming from.
Two nights ago was when it happened for the first time. I awoke, saw the flashing, and went to check it out, since I really had to pee anyway. When I turned on the normal bathroom lights, I didn’t notice the flashing anymore, and when I turned them off, it seemed to have stopped. I was half-asleep, but I think the clock said 1:33 when I went back to bed.
Last night, I woke up again and saw the flashing. This time, I didn’t have to pee quite as badly, so I laid there and watched it. After a little bit, it stopped. The clock read 1:31. I went back to sleep.
It’s possible I’m imagining the light. I was half-asleep both times, and I’ve been known to have some half-awake dreams in which I see something real in the room but it’s shape-shifting into something else before my eyes.
It’s possible the light is some silent alarm going off on a piece of electronics. Nobody lives in the other half of the duplex right now, and I don’t think our air ducts are connected (because we have our own thermostat), but it’s possible there’s something electronic in or around the bathroom, or maybe in or around another air vent?
It’s also possible this is something supernatural. And the most likely answer to what supernatural thing could be haunting my sleep is, obviously, the spirits of NIT’s past. They’re reaching out to me. They’re trying to tell me something.
What are these ghosts trying to tell me? There’s no way to know for sure. They could be encouraging me to keep fighting the good fight. They could be trying to alert me of a terrible conspiracy that’s going to ruin the NIT. They could just be saying hi. My guess, though, given how much I’ve had to pee in the middle of the night these last two nights, is that they’re trying to tell me to drink more water early in the day so I don’t feel such a need to drink a lot of the stuff before bed.
More to come.
Well, hopefully not more to come, because I’m definitely a little freaked out.
