Are the Senators the Most Physical Team in the NHL?

Every game this season (not to brag), the Senators have outhit their opponents. I don’t know if this is a good thing or not, but I have a hard time imagining it’s bad, and I have an easy time imagining it means they’re tough and physical and gonna make you work for it. Last night, it was a 51-14 margin. That’s enormous. Right?

The Final:

Jets 4, Senators 1

How It Happened:

Yeah but let’s talk about the hits. 51-14!

Outside of hits, the Jets just pulled away rather fast. Led 4-0 at the second intermission. Sens matched them in shots and killed all seven Winnipeg powerplays (that’s a lot—might’ve had something to do with the HITS, THOUGH), but only scored once, and that was pretty late before the final horn.

Any Fights?

No.

Standings:

Senators back in last. Alone. But with more games to play than the OilerCanucks (a merged entity in my brain until the Senators play one of them and I can separate the twain).

Montreal: 8 pts, 5 games played
Winnipeg: 6 pts, 4 GP
Toronto: 6 pts, 5 GP
Calgary: 5 pts, 3 GP
Edmonton: 4 pts, 5 GP
Vancouver: 4 pts, 6 GP
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 3 pts, 4 GP

Again, yes, it’s too early, but this is how I learn.

Senators News:

Didn’t really check for any, but saw that Matt Murray didn’t play the third period. Wonder if that was a benching or a resting.

Senators Thoughts:

Love the physicality.

What’s Next:

A third one in a row with the Jets, which doesn’t sound necessary to me but I guess we’re doing it. It’s tomorrow night.
