Are the Olympics Over? Because NASCAR and IndyCar Are Back.

NASCAR and IndyCar are back this weekend, which I believe means the Olympics are over. Hard to know, though. Thought I was looking at a clip from the closing ceremony last night on Twitter but it was just the new Kanye West stuff.

Regardless, they’re driving cars again in the United States. Here’s the schedule:

Friday

Nothing. Maybe some qualifying or practice or the IndyCar minor league thing but nothing that big.

Saturday

NASCAR Truck Series: United Rentals 176
Where: Watkins Glen International (road course, Finger Lakes region)
When: 12:30 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

No preview from us, but this is the last race before the Truck playoffs, so conceivably some playoff drama on the line.

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey 200
Where: Watkins Glen International
When: 4:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBCSN

No preview from us on this, either, and this isn’t the last pre-playoff race for the Xfinity Series, so nothing to see on that front.

Sunday

NASCAR Cup Series: Go Bowling at The Glen (I assume this sponsorship is about actual bowling? Right? Some big bowling advertising firm?)
Where: Watkins Glen International
When: 3:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBCSN

IndyCar: Big Machine Music City Grand Prix
Where: Nashville, on the street (it looks like they cross a bridge back and forth every lap, and just saying it would be pretty cool if an IndyCar splashed into the water as long as everyone’s ok of course)
When: 5:30 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBCSN

Previews for these Sunday morning, but if I forget to address it: Broadcast conflict if the NASCAR race goes long????? Could get testy.
