As with so many things, I have no idea how the MLB’s appeal process works, so I have no idea how long it will be before Joe Kelly’s reduced suspension is announced and I can get mad at Rob Manfred for only reducing it by however much it was reduced. For now, uncertainty reigns, and Joe Kelly pitches through it.
Last night, Arizona felt Kelly’s wrath, and despite suggestions from some (me) that he drill a guy or two to prove a point (the point being that he is naturally wild), he got three straight outs. Groundout. Groundout. Flyout.
Smooth sailing, and on a low enough pitch count that we could conceivably see him again tonight. Unless, you know, the appeal is done by then.
