Another Overtime Loss for the Senators

Could be worse, could be better. By definition.

The Final:

Canucks 3, Senators 2 (SO)

How It Happened:

Sens again went down 2-0, again came back to tie it, and again lost in the end, this time in a four-round shootout.

Any Fights?

Not this time.

Standings:

The Canadiens also lost in overtime, so technically even on that last playoff spot:

Toronto: 40 points, 30 games played
Winnipeg: 38 points, 29 games played
Edmonton: 38 points, 32 games played
Montreal: 34 points, 29 games played
Vancouver: 32 points, 33 games played
Calgary: 31 points, 30 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 23 points, 33 games played

Senators News:

Joey Daccord got hurt and is going to miss some time. Waiting on specifics there. Filip Gustavsson came in and played well, but with Matt Murray also hurt, the Sens are short in goal right now.

Senators Thoughts:

Would’ve been nice to get a win, partially to keep those two points from Vancouver, but at the same time, given how the first game of the series was the back half of a back-to-back, two points were about all anyone was hoping for.

What’s Next:

Senators get the weekend off from here, returning on Monday to start a two-game home set with the Flames.
