When we last saw Joe Kelly (two nights ago), things looked bleak.
And, to be fair, he wasn’t #FireEmojiJoeKelly last night. After all, he walked a couple guys.
But walks haven’t been much of a problem, compared to previous seasons (and compared to how many home runs he’s been allowing). And the man’s been due for some good luck (again, the home run/fly ball ratio is improbable even for a batting practice pitcher). He didn’t allow anything to be put in play with much force, and he was the only Dodger reliever to post a scoreless frame.
So all in all, a good outing. Which means:
It’s only a matter of time before our hero’s ERA is low enough that we don’t wince when we see it.
