A Real Stinker from the Burnleys

That was bad. Really bad. And it was almost worse!

The Result:

Burnley 0, West Brom 0

How It Happened:

West Brom had more chances early, and even after a Matěj Vydra charge led to a handball and red card for the visitors, West Brom continued to have more chances. Burnley just never got anything going. Not a thing. And it took things like a James Tarkowski head-save on the goal line to keep it from being a loss. So bad. So, so bad.

What It Means:

Burnley misses a chance to move up in the table and might get passed back by Brighton on Monday when they play Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Fulham could close the gap by beating Sheffield United later on today. All with a stretch against Tottenham, Leicester, Arsenal, and Everton coming up, half of which will be on the road.

Other News:

Not a whole lot else to share. No injuries for Burnley that I noticed.

General Thoughts:

Mars has not been on my mind this week. Just gonna get that out there. Not thinking about Mars.

Burnley Thoughts:

That was concerning. And to end a three-game stretch against bottom-half teams with just three points is also concerning. Seems like Burnley’s still pretty safe from relegation, but could be completely safe. And are not.
