The 90’s Bangers Bracket is even more back than it was on Monday. Thank you to everyone who nominated. Because of your efforts, we’ve got 386 candidates to make the field. Now we need your help to narrow the list down to 64.
You can vote right here on which songs are bangers and which of those should make the bracket.
We grouped the songs by the year they were released, and when deciding between the song’s release date as an album or as a single, we went with whichever came first. There are some covers in there, too. This is a long way of saying that yes, we know There She Goes was originally by The La’s. It was first released in the 80’s, much to our chagrin.
Votes will be considered if they come in before midnight Saturday night. The full bracket will be unveiled on Sunday. First round voting will begin on Monday.
We’ve given you five voting options for every song:
- Please, No: –2 Points
- I Don’t Know This Song: –1 Point
- I Like It, But It’s Not a Banger: 0 Points
- Banger.: +1 Point
- Banger!!!!: +2 Points
We’ll combine your votes with The People’s Rankings from the 2020 edition of this bracket to choose our field. If you don’t answer for a particular song (or a particular 385 songs), no worries. It won’t count as any points.
Again, here’s the link to vote on which songs are bangers and which should make the bracket. Voting from a computer works better than voting from a phone, but I just voted from my phone and it wasn’t too bad. If the formatting gets weird, try tilting your phone on its side and then back again. I am sorry. This is the best we can give you.
Thank you for your service to the world of bangers.
