Today’s Best Bets: The Waiting Game

No NHL futures today. Those will come later this week. Hopefully tomorrow, but who can say. It is partly out of my hands.

We’ll also take a day off of MLB futures. We’re short on cash flow until one LCS ends, and there isn’t much value in those markets today. It would help us if the Brewers made a series of it, but we’re in good shape for however these series go. Great that the Mariners started so strong.

FIU at Western Kentucky

This is the only game tonight where Movelor has much of a difference from the line. In these Tuesday night games, we’re all guessing, but we’re going to guess with our model. We do think that more often than not, deviations from the fundamental line are overblown—the market buying too much into some specific narrative. But our track record isn’t good enough to stake too much reputation on that theory.

Pick: Western Kentucky –10 (–110). 0.91 units to win 0.83.

I am only roughly 90% confident in these numbers. At some point we’ll get that Google Sheet up which tracks all our bets this year.

2025–26: –454.76 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)

2025–26: –6% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 833 single-game markets plus three completed futures portfolios and one partly completed futures portfolio)

Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)

Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
