Today’s Best Bets: Digging Deep into Champ Week

Re: Yesterday

Well, the NASCAR pick won.

Two more today as we battle the slump. The only way out is through.

Towson vs. Delaware

I buy that Delaware might be tired. The Blue Hens have played a lot of games in this tournament and stare down another tomorrow. But they’re also in a comfortable space, they just scored 100 yesterday, and Towson put up points of its own. I get that totals are lower right now—I can accept that—but it still seems like it’s going too far, and this is the furthest it’s going.

Pick: Over 144.5 (–115). 10.00 units to win 8.70.

Robert Morris vs. Oakland

Here, I think I like the program used to this stage. Yes, it’s only the Horizon League semifinals, but Oakland has played into this stage of this tournament as recently as last year. RMU never has since moving over from the NEC. Give us Greg Kampe. He doesn’t even have to win.

Pick: Oakland +3.5 (–105). 10.00 units to win 9.52.

I am only roughly 90% confident in these numbers. We’ll get that Google Sheet up soon which tracks all our bets this year.

2025: –101.59 units (started with 1,000-unit bankroll)

2025: –5% average ROI (weighted by unit; sample size: 129 single-game markets)

Pre-2025: 0% average ROI (worse when limited to only sports)

Units taken from best odds we can find at major sportsbooks available to most Americans.
