Today’s Best Bet: Tuesday, February 22nd

Editor’s Note: For a little more than three years now, Joe has been publishing picks here and back at All Things NIT, our former site. Overall, the results have been positive, with an average return on investment, per pick, of 0.0% when weighting by confidence (1 for low, 2 for medium, 3 for high) across 2,024 published picks, not including bets that remain pending, like futures. So…dead even. You could do worse.

Use these picks at your own risk. Only you are responsible for any money you lose, and you should not bet more than you can afford to lose. If you have a gambling problem, get help.

Lines for these come from the Vegas consensus or the closest approximation available at the time picks are written, unless otherwise noted. KenPom is heavily used in making college basketball picks.

Georgia @ Texas A&M

Georgia is in turmoil, with just six wins to its name, Tom Crean’s firing seemingly imminent, and fights in the locker room. Maybe this will work for them. Maybe they’ll rally and put something together on the road. Maybe Aaron Cook, who Crean criticized on a hot mic the other day, will go off tonight. At present, the line hasn’t adjusted much at all to the situation, holding to the regular line and implying that if it’s bad, it isn’t getting worse. Against Texas A&M, who has a decent amount left to play for, we’ll take a chance on the possibility it is, in fact, getting worse.

Pick: Texas A&M -12 (-110). Low confidence.
