The Barking Crow Is on (Semi) Paternity Leave

Update, 12/20:

We’re back in motion. Still figuring out exactly what that means, but once we’ve got our feet under us and a little bit of consistency, we’ll update the About Page with what to expect from our beautiful NIT (and other things) blog.

Update, 12/6:

More apologies, as the original post (below) turned out to be a little misleading. The baby is happy and healthy and (thankfully) a pretty easy child so far, though we know not to get too attached to that. Other pieces have been a little more chaotic than anticipated, but everyone is doing well and recovering from what they need to recover from. We should start posting new blog posts again in the next few days, and we hope to have the college football model updated in time to give Movelor probabilities once the bracket is set. Once we’re back underway, we’ll have another post sharing more. Thank you, and as always—

Bark.

Hello! Apologies to any affected by our silence these last two days. The baby arrived, and he and mom are healthy and happy.

The Barking Crow is going to be a little limited these next two months, but as we get our feet under us at home, here’s what to expect on the site:

College Football Bracketology, Playoff Probabilities, Movelor, Etc.

These are The Barking Crow’s highest priority from now through New Year’s. We’re hoping to have the updates in for this week before the weekend’s games arrive, and to keep things updated regularly from there. I’m sure delays will be more frequent. Apologies for those affected by this week’s major delay.

Blog Posts

We’ll try to keep Joe Stunardi’s bets, Good Things Shrewing, and NIT Stu’s miscellany going on a semi-regular basis, but we doubt we’ll be posting these with any sort of regularity before New Year’s. The combination of new fatherhood and the holidays will probably mean more essays at the expense of analysis and goofing. Some of you will be pleased; some will not; we will try to keep the quality adequate.

NIT Bracketology

We’ll try to run an update on this, maybe after Feast Week, but because we’re trying to lull the NCAA T*urnament into a false sense of security, we may lay low. Having grown the new generation of NIT loyalists by one, we’re bullish on the revolution’s chances, but we need to play our cards right.

The Long Run

As of right now, the plan is to spend some time in December figuring out the content plan for January, February, March, and the end of college basketball season. We don’t have any plans right now to go anywhere after that, but fatherhood changes a lot of things. Thanks for supporting The Barking Crow. 32 > 68. Babies are good. Bark.
