Iowa State Does Its Thing With Kansas

The Reaction:

That felt good.

Iowa State trounced Kansas in Ames, which is what you’d hope Iowa State would do to Kansas in Ames. No turnovers from the Cyclones. 10.1 yards per pass. 8.8 yards per rush. Kansas is bad, but it was good enough to be impressive even accounting for the Jayhawks’ futility. Well done, Cyclones.

The Big Picture:

Oklahoma still hasn’t looked great, and Iowa State’s in a hole with the loss last week but far from out of the Big 12 race. We could be rid of Big 12 undefeateds by the time Iowa State rolls into Morgantown for Halloween weekend.

Relevant Results:

As said, Oklahoma still hasn’t looked great. It was better from the Sooners in Manhattan, but they only wound up with a 37-31 victory. In Fort Worth, it was a similar story for Texas, who beat TCU 32-27. In Stillwater, Oklahoma State took down Baylor, 24-14.

Iowa looked the most impressive they’ve looked all year, thrashing Maryland in College Park on Friday night, 51-14. That’s not that fun, but it’s not bad for Iowa State, even if it likely turns out meaningless.

Next Week:

It’s an idle week for the Cyclones, making this a good note to end the first segment on. Hopefully eight straight games coming out of it, so get everybody healthy here.
