Iowa State Can’t Capitalize Against TCU—Four Thoughts

1. Those poor dudes.

It really looked like they were gonna do it.

2. No word yet on George Conditt’s ankle.

At least, no word that I’ve seen. It was a rough time for Conditt to go down, given how efficiently he was playing, and given that Solomon Young’s struggles continued.

3. Rasir Bolton drove the offense.

Bolton shot thirteen free throws. That’s a ton. He made thirteen free throws. That’s eye-popping.

TCU’s in the middle of the Big 12 in fouling stats. If Bolton can do more of this over the next few weeks, that’s going to go a long way for the Cyclones.

4. When might the win come?

The second Kansas State game is still unscheduled, making the best opportunity for a win currently TCU’s visit to Ames on the 27th. KenPom has the likelihood of Iowa State losing out at 20.1% provided no currently-unscheduled games (the TCU one and a trip to Lubbock) are made up. Which is a comforting number. But KenPom has their best chance before the TCU game as only a 21%-likely win. That’s Saturday against KU.

We’ll see.
