Giancarlo Stanton still has the hardest-hit ball in the MLB this year.

Giancarlo Stanton returns tonight, but before he does, we should note how impressive his season has already been.

Having put four balls in play, to date, Stanton nonetheless has the hardest-hit ball of anyone in 2019, an opposite-field base hit off of Andrew Cashner on Opening Day.

The rest of the league has put a combined 55,572 balls in play, yet none has come within 1.6 mph of Stanton’s Opening Day single.

And yes, there’s Aaron Judge, who will also soon return, in the top five.

Goodness.
