Fernando Tatís Jr. Is as Good as He Is Fun

It’s not just how fun Fernando Tatís Jr. is to watch. The 21-year-old really is this good.

Entering games today, Tatís leads the major leagues in fWAR by a third of a win. He’s tied for the MLB lead in home runs. Among qualified hitters, he’s in the top five in slugging percentage and the top twenty in on-base percentage. The Triple Crown might not be within his reach (he’s twelfth in the race for the NL Batting Title) but it also might not be (he leads in RBI’s, too).

The hype was real. Fernando Tatís Jr. is here.
