Fargo Friday: Goodbye, Neighbors!

This is Fargo.

Fargo has something to say.

And yes, we know it isn’t Friday.

But she sure doesn’t.

mmmmmheeeEEELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*jumpity tappity jumpity tappity jumpity tappity BOOP!*

i have moved.

I KNOW!

it was news to me as well.

one night, you’re trying to play with your orange ball while your people put all your things in boxes after telling you all week, “We’re moving apartments on Friday, bud,” and the next night, you’re coming home from daycare to A DIFFERENT HOME!!!!! who could have seen this coming?

the new place is good so far—i saw a duck this morning on my walk, and please forward all mail to the door on the left, by the way—but i have left some good friends behind at the apartment building, and to them i say:

goodbye, friends.

River: you are a crazy little man. i love it. i don’t know why you make the noises you make when we play, but it adds ATMOSPHERE. your urgency is big, even if you are little.

Frankie: you are a vibe and a half. no one can scoot their boot quite like you, Frank. your scramblarinos down the hallway are the stuff of legend, and you are quite good at prancing and sniffing at the same time, which is such an important skill for us doodles.

Whiskey: you are confusing, because you are part bull and you are capable of toppling me the heck over, but it is sure a fun time to see you. you get your hind legs into the tippy-tap before you charge, and that is when i know we are about to have a good time.

Duke and Barry: not sure when you guys moved out, but you were always kind. you were a positive influence, especially whichever one of you had the big ears. Barry? was that you?

Ollie: not sure when you moved out either, but you were chaos incarnate, and i like chaos in all its forms. great barker.

Dublin: you were a mysterious beast, down there at the end of the hall. my distant relative. i would have liked to see you swat something with that giant paw.

Payton: you moved out a long time ago but heck oh heck did we have fun. of all the floofballs, you were the floofballest, and it was an honor to briefly be your best friend.

Kimchi and Churro: yes, i knew about you two. you think i was ok with my people coming home smelling like CATS!? well, i was—more sniffing for me that way—but i do think it was rude that i was never allowed to enter your home and chase you all around the place. would have been a good time. for me.

The Little Spaniel: no idea what your name was but congratulations on becoming down with other dogs. that was a journey, and we are all proud of you.

Raya: It was not easy giving up the title of being the most beautiful dog on the block, but you wear the crown well. You also seem like you would be fun to play chase with. Just a hunch. A hunch and a half, in fact.

Cocoa Bean: is that how you spell your name? i am sorry if i am being rude. however you spell it, golly oh golly are you a good time. you are electric, Cocoa Bean. if we were in a room you would take it over. you take over the block instead. ENERGY! that’s what we need more of in this world.

i am told i will return to the old walking grounds soon, but heaven knows i can’t comprehend what that means. i am a DOG! i live in the moment. and in this moment, there is bubble wrap to be played with.

Fargo is a dog. She is our dog.
